Kundalini and 'Going where we're supposed to go'
Author: Robert Morgen
In the early 90's I had a spontaneous Kundalini Awakening after a near death experience, which I wrote about in a different article. Here's what happened next.
After I got out of the hospital after my injury, and even during my stay there, I felt that I was extremely different. At the time I accounted it to just being glad to still be alive, and for over a decade I never thought anything more about it.
Yet the fact was that I did feel extremely different and I felt driven to pursue meditation and other avenues that I'd always had a vague interest in, but never really pursued.
Now it was an imperative, so I began reading everything I could find. Unfortunately I wasn't finding much that was useful. It was about a year later that I discovered "Pathnotes of an American Ninja Master" by Dr. Glenn Morris.
It was the first I'd ever heard of kundalini, Reiki, Chi Kung and Therapeutic Touch. Within a few days I discovered a Chi Kung class near where I lived in Ft. Lauderdale and was able to barter some dreamcatchers and other odds and ends for some classes.
My teacher there was also a Reiki Master, so he introduced me to Reiki also.
Over the next decade I floundered around (or so I thought) and worked a wide variety of jobs and studied a strange variety of classes in school, as well as spent a large amount of time out in the mountains or hiding out in the desert and just communing and doing various types of energy work.
A couple of years ago while living up in Glenwood Springs, CO I was again drawn to get deeper into my energy work, and entered a period of intense yoga, Reiki, chi kung and meditation.
One night while meditating I had a vision of a lotus flower, but the vision included the flower, the stem and the roots.
The meaning was instantly obvious and I easily connected my energy and felt a rush up my spine and out through the top of my head.
Over the next few months I went through a period that I can only describe as a karmic clean-out.
Any unresolved issue that I didn't properly deal with would keep popping up over and over until I dealt with it calmly and from my center.
I had my drivers license revoked twice (during a period when I was just being hired by UPS, blew the engines on 3 vehicles and had a tortured series of bureaucratic battles.
I had strange energy surges as my body re-wired itself and had energy releases that sent me to massage therapists and other Reiki practitioners to have cleaned out.
Some of this still happens, and probably always will.
I also went through a period of balancing my chakras, and I can look back at my life in various periods and see what chakra I was in.
After a few months I started trying to get away from it all. I stopped doing my yoga and meditation and entered a period that I can only describe as a mental hell. I later learned that even then I was balancing out my light and dark sides (but that's a new posting).
After a few months of this I finally realized that the best way to deal with all this was to *quit trying to deal with it and JUST ACCEPT IT*.
Once I began relaxing into myself and wasn't fighting the changes as much, I began to really feel a deep connection to the other energy around me.
Cities like Denver drove me nuts, and a casual drive through the mountains (my buddy Jeff called them 'medicine drives') would turn into an hours long meditation as I could feel the energy of all the trees and the world around me as I passed through.
It was still a time of healing and I carried around a damaged feeling that was gradually lessening as I became more relaxed.
At the time I was living in an old RV and just traveling around. I went back to Albuquerque for the winter and, even though things were still hard, I was learning to feel better.
Then one day in February I suddenly realized that I was still working against myself.
I made a silent affirmation that I would quit working so hard at this, and that I was just going to relax, have fun and enjoy each moment and see where I was supposed to go next.
A couple of days later I got a message from Jeff that Dr. Glenn Morris (whom I'd had a chance to finally meet at a metaphysical fair the previous October) wanted me to come up for a weekend and assist with the booth at another metaphysical fair.
So back I came to Denver, and a weekend of volunteer work turned into a temporary partnership in a nonprofit and my helping with several of his kundalini awakening seminars.
My training with Glenn opened up a vast world of new experiences and showed me that so many parts of my life actually made sense, and opened the way for the healing and growth that I so badly needed.
Along the way I remembered that every time I had a problem or needed some direction I could just relax and affirm to go wherever I was supposed to.
The lesson for me was to have a little faith, and that having faith will work only if you commit to it and then let it happen.
Even now I continue to affirm that I'll go wherever I'm supposed to go and do whatever it is that I'm supposed to do, and so far I've ALWAYS had the guidance I needed within a couple of days.
I hope this helps some of you who may be struggling with some aspects of this. This is obviously an ongoing process that's moving into it's second decade and probably will never be 'finished', but at least I'm learning to enjoy the ride and go where I'm supposed to.

'Manufacturing Consent' and Hypnosis
Author: Robert Bruce Baird
Noam Chomsky's 'Manufacturing Consent':

When Chomsky speaks about "thought control in a democratic society" is he properly called a Conspiracy Theorist? Is there a real plan that our leaders have? Does it go as far as what FDR said when he noticed 'If it happened, it was planned'? As I often say throughout all my books – 'If there is no plan; we need one. Let's make it a plan or conspiracy based on Love.' Chomsky was the educational and psychological guru for many years before he got a conscience after seeing the way his Neuro-Linguistic-Programming was used by government agencies and the medical model. He may not yet be telling the truth of what he knows about these things. Maybe he is not aware of the applications in conjunction with the work of Dr. Michael Persinger but in listening to his speeches a couple of times I say he is very much aware of the underlying ethos that rules our world.

HYPNOTIC METHODS IN MEDIA:

This is an entry from one volume of my Encyclopedia. The mind and the soul have ways of integrating that we have carried on a great length about under diverse entries such as Thalami, Aum (Om) and wholistic medical advances or Cancer cures. Under magnetism we mentioned Mesmer who is considered the 'Father of Hypnosis' by many. Hypnosis is just another way to achieve an altered state of consciousness like meditation or good sex. Like many avenues to the soul and away from the control of those who would keep us in the dark and treat us like mushrooms (feeding us the excrement of animals they think are as low as 'they' truly are); hypnotism has suffered the attacks of many well-respected 'experts'. It has shown it has validity and value despite this often frontal assault on what actually 'works'! The power of positive thinking became a major part of the culture and self-help genre in the 70s and it is a form of hypnosis sometimes.

"Hypnosis is a level of consciousness that is being neither awake nor asleep. Hypnosis is a state of heightened suggestibility normally characterized by focused or concentrated attention and often bodily relaxation. Music, focusing on deep breathing, isolation tanks, meditation, focusing on a word such as 'calm' over and over, running, massage, saunas, even warm baths can alter consciousness. {Fasting can accentuate any INTENT, as well.}

Any atmosphere that encourages imagery can alter consciousness. This may include:
*The scent of burning incense
*Lighting effects with flickering candles in darkness, stained glass windows
*Emotion-arousing music, repetitive sounds, chanting
*Symbolism with specific architectural designs, decor with pictures and ornate carvings, robes, etc.
*Point of fixation such as an altar, picture, candle flame, or cross
*Ceremony with certain rituals
*Sermon with repetitive ideas or sounds and specific voice inflections
*Silent meditation with eyes closed, focusing attention away from the outer world to the inner world of the mind

Any and all of these factors {Plus repetitive propaganda and peer expectation.} may aid the creation of an altered state of consciousness, which some people call the superconscious state of a 'higher self' state. The unfortunate fact is that this state also is capitalized on by more than 5,000 cults in America, which exploit followers under the guise of healing, personal growth, and self-actualization.

My most memorable show of the eighties was at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) in Vancouver, British Columbia. We held 33 evening concerts in 17 days. More than 50,000 people saw our presentations with up to 5,000 spectators at a single performance. The shows were done on a huge stage that was often over-crowded even though it could hold more than 200 people.

The expectancy of the crowd reached the point where I could walk on stage and within
seconds have 50 to 100 people collapse in seconds and fall to the floor. All I had to do was go to the center of the stage, look over the entire crowd, raise my right hand and simultaneously drop it, and in a commanding voice shout 'Sleep'. This was a quick way to get the show moving, and that was important for full entertainment impact. The audience couldn't get enough of the show and enjoyed the humor the volunteers' antics created much more than how the actual hypnosis worked." (7)

Improving Meditation
Author: Dale Power
If you have ten years to sit at the bottom of a dark cave you can really master meditation. Short of that you could enroll in a monastery and devote your life to contemplation. Perhaps you would rather move to India and become a yogi?

For a long time such extreme techniques and lifestyle changes have been the only way to really do what we have wanted in regards to psychic power and ability. Even if you are willing to do it though, it has been kind of hard to find someone you can trust to push food through the little slot in the door each day or pay for the plane ticket.

Most people have an innate feeling that if they could just concentrate a little harder, go just a little deeper into their own minds, they would be able to unleash incredible power. All reliable reports say that they are right to believe this. Most people also find it hard to set aside an hour for meditation, never mind ten years.

Here is a simple method that can take the place of that ten year journey inside yourself. You still have to pay attention and use discipline to get where you wish to be, but you will speed things up several hundreds times, reaching levels of meditation that many have thought could not be reached at all and certainly not by city dwelling folk like most of us!

The concept here is a bit circular. You use what meditative skills you have to generate a psychic field, which will carry your mind into a deeper and more focused state. In that deeper state you reinforce the psychic field, which will drive you deeper still.

When you reach the state you wish you simply set the psychic field to resonate with that level of thought and you will easily maintain your place.

I am not suggesting that anyone give up their meditative practices and move to only this technique. Think of this as more of a tool to help you speed up your progress, rather than a complete program. After all, no single tool will ever replace self-discipline for getting things done. It also never hurts to give new skills an honest try, if you wish to perform at a higher level.

Some of these steps will take a little work to perfect, but don't let feeling a little shaky on one or two of them stop you though, as this method has a tendency to work itself into a consistently stronger format on its own!

So lets get started.

*Allow your mind to quite. If you have meditative skills, begin by going into yourself as deeply as you can. If you are new to meditation, just try to make the inside of your head feel quiet and hollow. Don't worry about doing it correctly. Just acknowledge any thoughts coming in and set them aside for a few minutes.

*In this quiet space, you will want to focus on the feeling of your mind moving into a deeper place. It is important that you focus on the "feeling" or the raw "knowing" of what you want. Try not to dwell on particulars. Your subconscious mind will get you where you need to be, you are just providing the basic suggestion to go there. At this point you will have automatically begun to form a psychic information field around your mind.

*Now we will begin to program the information field. First you will want to define the physical parameters of the field. Let it surround your head and hold for about twenty seconds the idea that it will stay within this general area. This will prevent you from effecting those around you overly much.

*Once the space of operations has been determined, we can move into the content of the information. We want three different but linked things for this one field. First, "know" without words or pictures that this field will hold itself together well. This will make it self-sustaining and consistent. Second, "feel" yourself going deeper and becoming more synchronized in brainwave pattern. If you don't know what that should feel like, just "know" that that is the goal. This is something your mind has a natural talent for, it already knows how to do it, you just need to let it know what you want done! Finally you will want to place a general guideline as to how deep you wish to go. While you are in little real danger from this technique, as you can always shake it off, or better reset the field to reflect the mindset and level you wish to be at, it is possible to go so deep that you will have trouble remembering what else you wished to do once you got there!

To release the field, simply hold the concept of it dispersing for a few seconds. You should be able to sense the state of the information/psychic field fairly easily at this point.

In general it is better to practice meditation for a while before jumping into this technique. Knowledge of what deeper mental states feel like will help you in bringing them back later.

If you take just a bit of time, and make the effort, you can make faster progress in your meditative practices by using psychic skills than you can without. This technique is simple to use, true, but it also delivers as promised. You can hold the field and continue to go as deeply as you wish. Once you are where you want to be, you can stay there, with very little effort. By increasing your ability to synchronize your mind and focus on a greater level, with improved consistency, you can increase the effectiveness of your psychic work by many times.

Four Powerful Pathways Into The Light And Sound Of Oneness
Author: Judith Pennington
The easiest, most exciting adventure in consciousness follows the lamplit guidance of the still, small voice in each of us. In the quiet of meditation, we listen to our souls and hear what is most needed in our lives and how best to obtain it. This wise, kindly voice never fails us and never falters.

There is no substitute for inner listening. But in our travels, these four pathways emerge to enhance our joy and draw us into the Oneness.

See which of these harmonic pathways resonates best with you: thought and word, self-knowledge, inner peace, or chanting and toning. All work together, as individual notes or as a chord, to transport us into the beauty and music of higher consciousness--the light and sound of Universal Mind, or God.

1. The power of thought and word. When our ideal is peace, healing or prosperity, and we say or do something out of alignment with this, we sense, feel or know it. The discord itself keeps us on track and guides us back into oneness with ourselves, others and Spirit. The great psychic-healer Edgar Cayce, who said that "Thoughts are crimes or miracles," lovingly advised everyone to create an ideal by which to live. This is best done in meditation, so that the soul voice may show us what is needed most. For you, is it peace, joy, self-discipline, will, oneness or something else altogether?

If a single word floats up when you ask this question, create with this word an affirmative phrase or sentence, then go back into the silence to see if it is good and right for you. When it is, post your ideal somewhere and, during meditation, use it as a mantra to draw your busy mind back into the silence. This will build your ideal into your life. When the words of your ideal no longer have a "shine," or "go dead" for you, you have incorporated this quality and it's time to return to meditation for a fresh ideal.

Every time you think or speak your ideal, you are physically attuning your body-mind to it, so be sure it's a spiritual intention that will uplift you! Ideals are blueprints with which we build our lives, whether we know it or not! If you aren't convinced that your thoughts, words and emotions influence the physical world around you, you might find these stories very interesting.

Last November I attended an historic conference in Virginia Beach that featured the physicists and U.S. military personnel at the center of America's research on remote viewing, termed "anomalous perception" or "anomalous perturbation" (psychic receiving or influencing) by these methodical thinkers. One of the presenters was the famous remote viewer and artist Ingo Swann, who reminded us that thoughts, as vibrations, are heard and felt by all sentient beings, including house plants!

At a party in New York City, Swann met Cleve Baxter, who later authored the classic book, The Secret Life of Plants, and visited Baxter's home to participate in experiments. Baxter had hooked up lie detector electrodes to the leaves of ordinary house plants, and every time Swann struck a match, the readout jumped sharply in reaction. After awhile, the reactions stopped and Swann asked why. "The plant knows you're bluffing!" Baxter told him. And so it did, as illustrated time and again in Baxter's landmark book.

In other experiments, Baxter and Swann took skin scrapings and drops of blood from a man and put them in a vial hooked up to the same electrodes. The readouts consistently jumped when the man was poked with a pin, even when he was five blocks away! (See the second edition of my e-zine, OneWorld, for a series of eye-opening articles and interviews from this amazing conference.)

That we are all one body, one mind is indisputable. Yet we so easily forget and doubt how our thoughts and words affect everyone-and everything-else, including our own bodies and minds.

2. The power of self-knowledge. My still, small voice has said for the past 16 years that releasing darkness enables us to attract and hold more light, and recently, DNA experiments carried out by a Russian scientist proved definitively that this is true. It's intuitively verifiable as well, and a phenomenon that we can physically feel as it takes place.

Here's how to bypass your ego, which I call a "hero in its own mind," and awaken to what you need to know about yourself. Every time you find yourself angry, frustrated or in conflict with someone else, "Stand back and watch yourself go by," as Cayce so vividly advised. "Know Thyself," emblazoned on the temples of Greek mystery schools, is the key to conscious evolution. If we do not undertake this journey, we are not really conscious at all.

I was taught this by my meditative writings, and as I traced my discordant words and actions back to their source-fear of inadequacy and a crippling lack of self-love-I was able to see and correct the destructive patterns of behavior that drove me to addictive decisions and ways of life. I could actually feel my burdens growing lighter, as my pain, sorrow and yearning gave way to increased amounts of light in my body-mind.

What fascinated me most was the correlation of this "en-lightenment" to sound: with each stride forward, I could hear my singing voice becoming ever more resonant and beautiful! I can still hear the difference in my voice, in shifting from one state of consciousness to another, and especially in singing with other spiritual seekers, wherein everyone's voice grows more harmonious, resonant and beautiful. I concluded that the high frequencies of love bring us into our blossoming literally and in response to our deepest desires.

3. The power of inner peace. Silent meditation, by building up the divine currents of energy within us, is the single most effective way to heal and transform the body-mind. These currents, containing the light and sound of God, tune up our bodies through the chakra system, or "wheels of energy," as Cayce called them. He said, and virtually all medical intuitives have seen, that these seven energy centers connect the spiritual dimensions with our endocrine glands, located at major nerve centers. The chakras, powered-up like frequency transformers with multi-level circuits, step our energy up or down.

You can feel this happen during meditation, and the longer you meditate, the more sensitive you become to these subtle energies, which carry us into the Oneness. I experience this oneness not only as a sense of love for and connection with others, but also as oneness with my highest mental clarity, creativity and intuition. After 16 years of regular practice, I emerge from every meditation, brief or lengthy, feeling more centered, grounded and in attunement with my true self. Going within kindles the divine spark in us so that we may know and speak the truth of who we are-and, in this, reach out to others in love, compassion and service.

A calm, peaceful sense of oneness is critical to our evolution; otherwise, we volley back and forth from one state of consciousness to another without ever really knowing what is real and what is not. I experience this shifting consciousness when I don't meditate every day. The slippage is all too apparent to me, and unfortunately, to others around me as well.

When I do return to meditation, I am amazed at the consistently gentle, loving voice of my heart, which does not complain when I skip my contemplative time, but waits patiently for me to return. Recently, while in deep meditation, I heard a quiet little voice say, "I am too hurried." Upon engaging in a pen-and-paper dialogue with my heart and mind, I learned that both want and need the restful peace of meditation.

This makes sense, doesn't it? It is in the Oneness that both are energized and made more vibrant and whole. In this blissful state, these three notes organize themselves into a chord made of the proper co-creative partnership: mind serving heart, heart serving soul, and soul serving what I call the Divine Harmonic.

4. The power of chanting and toning. To comprehend the potential of sound, we have only to read the Hebrew Bible, which tells us how the powerful vibration of trumpets and the drumbeat of marching feet toppled the walls of Jericho. In modern times, we have seen this same harmonic phenomenon in a California bridge undulating in resonance with the frequency of wind blowing all around it. The bridge eventually shattered. Equally unpleasant to many of us is the deep, rumbling bass of automobile speakers passing by and thumping our beating hearts into palpitations.

Such "entrainment" sensations can be reversed by a meditative thought, word or rhythmic sound, all of which will rapidly shift any frequency pattern. People have always used chanting and toning to evoke altered states of consciousness and heal with the power of sound.

I've recently read, but have not yet verified, that Egyptian hieroglyphics show adepts using the vibrations of their voices to heal their patients' energy fields. It makes sense intuitively that if we fully understood the capabilities of frequency and vibration, we would be able to heal anything.

The racial memory of these abilities, lost through the ages, has been restored to us by Cayce and others. Researchers reading of Cayce's glimpses into the distant past believe that the mastery of sound technology is how the Mayans, Aztecs and Egyptians moved 100-ton boulders hundreds of miles and up mountainsides to build megalithic temples and pyramids.

David Elkington's meticulously researched book, In the Name of the Gods, claims that Egypt's pyramids were not meant to be burial chambers, but were frequency modulators for spiritual ascension and for quickening the mummified dead. Like sacred cairns and stone circles, pyramidal structures amplify the resonance of chanting voices and may have been used to raise the frequencies of the crystalline human body into harmony with the crystalline healing frequencies of the Earth. We know today that this frequency, 7.8 hertz, is a fundamental brain wave frequency of meditation and spontaneous healing by hands-on practitioners.

Hindus, Buddhists and many Westerners harmonize the body-mind by chanting the familiar "Om" or singing the word "Hu," the Sufi and Eckankar seed sound for God. (Eckankar is the present-day Religion of the Light and Sound of God.) The vowel sounds in these words move energy through the abdominal, cardio-pulmonary and cranial cavities of the body when we focus on feeling this movement of loving, divine energy, rather than how we sound to others. The key to chanting and toning is being present to it.

Here's a powerful chant from ancient Egypt, resurrected in trance by Edgar Cayce and explained in a little book, Music as the Bridge, published by Cayce's Association of Research and Enlightenment (edgarcayce.org) in Virginia Beach. I've asked people, during my talks and workshops, to sing this chant and always hear beautiful harmonic overtones that carry the singers into deep meditative states. Cayce said this particular chant awakens our ability to draw ourselves into the divine and the divine into us. See if it works for you!

Surrounding yourself with a sacred circle of love, chant the word ar-ar-r-r--e-e-e--o-o-o--mmm. Fill your pelvis and navel with this rich, resonant "ar-ar-r-r" (as in ah-r) and with your whole body sound the "eeeeee" (as in eat) in your solar plexus, moving the breath upward and directing the "oooooo" (as in oh) to the heart and throat, then the uuuuuu (as in blue) to the base and center of the brain, and the "mmmmm" (as in room) to the forehead and frontal lobe of your brain. You will feel this last sound vibrating the very bones of your head.

If you sit with this chant for awhile, you'll feel the currents of spiritual love coursing through your body-mind, and a river of peace will carry you into the Oneness of perfect love. Share your peace and healing by visualizing your loved ones and Earth's people basking in joy.

Joy is the natural outcome of these pathways into the Oneness, for here we feel the perfection in all things and know ourselves to be one with the Divine. All pain, loss and sorrow fall away in this journey toward the Light and Sound of God. In the beautiful music of this illuminated Oneness, we soar on wings of freedom and joy, at home in our place of true belonging, forever.

What Is Shamanic Smudging? Meditation

What Is Shamanic Smudging?
Author: Stephanie Yeh
Shamanic smudging—or just smudging—is an age-old tribal tradition which has been used for centuries to create harmony and peace. There are many different shamanic smudging ceremonies, and different tribes use a variety of herbs for smudging.

To define it more clearly, shamanic smudging is the burning of herbs or incense for cleansing, purification, protection of physical and spiritual bodies, banishment of negative energies and creation of sacred space. You can use smudge sticks (herbs that are tied into a bundle for easier handling), braided herbs and botanicals (like sweetgrass) or loose herbs (burned on charcoal or mugwort, or in a firepit). Shamanic smudging releases the energy and fragrance of the herbs and botanicals so they can heal, cleanse and purify.

In many traditions, shamanic smudging involves a four directions ceremony or prayer, which sends specific kinds of smoke or prayers into the four directions. Different tribes have different smudging prayers that "program" the smoke to do a specific action, such as cleansing or aiding in divination.

In general, shamanic smudging can be used in daily life for practical purposes—to restore physical, mental and emotional balance; to shield against negative energies; to cleanse yourself, your magickal tools and your space; and to restore you sacred space.

<><><> COMMON HERBS USED IN SMUDGING <><><>
Although different tribes and traditions use different herbs for shamanic smudging, some of the most popular herbs include desert sage, white broadleaf sage, juniper, pinon (sometimes in resin form), sweetgrass, copal (in resin form), mugwort, lavender and sacred tobacco. Here are some general uses for the different herbs often used for smudging:

- PINON RESIN
Primarily fire element though can also be used as for four-element general purposes. Has a pleasant and meditative fragrance. Is cleansing, strengthening, warming, and used by Native American cultures for its spiritual and healing properties. Produces a thick stream of smoke, and is excellent for refreshing the senses and reviving a tired soul.

- COPAL GOLD RESIN
Primarily fire and water elements though can also be used as for four-element general purposes. When burned, the scent is sweet, resinous, slightly woody, mildly earthy and spicy. Was a holy incense used by the peoples of Mesoamerica. Traditionally used as incense in divinatory and cleansing ceremonies. The resin contains aromatic chemicals called terpenes, which make it volatile and flammable. Used by Mayan shamans prior to ingesting mushrooms.

- MYRRH RESIN
Primarily earth element though can also be used as for four-element general purposes. Produces a lot of smoke when burned, very earthy, piney scent. Gathered from an almost leafless Middle Eastern shrub called the Commiphora Molmol. It was used by the ancient Egyptians in rituals of Healing and Passing. It is one of the ingredients used by the Egyptians to embalm bodies. Useful for spirituality, meditation, happiness, release, transformation, strength, confidence and stability.

- FRANKINCENSE RESIN
Primarily fire element though can also be used as for four-element general purposes. Is the resin of an African tree and produces a rich, dense smoke when burned. Used extensively in meditation and healing. In numerous religious traditions, frankincense's spiritual scent was believed to confer divine blessing. Pliny the Elder mentioned it as an antidote to hemlock poisoning.

- DESERT SAGE
Primarily air element though can also be used as for four-element general purposes. Has a somewhat sharp, light and refreshing scent. One of the most sacred herbs among Native Americans. Used to purify the mind, body and spirit before prayer, meditation, ritual or ceremony. Also used to purify sacred items such as pipes, magical tools, tarot decks and eagle feathers. Can be used for area, house and personal cleansings. Some people carry a small amount of Sage in a pocket or medicine pouch to insure personal and spiritual safety.

- JUNIPER
Primarily fire element though can also be used as for four-element general purposes. Has a sharp, piney scent. Excellent to stimulate and revive when tired in body, mind or Spirit. Used in ancient times for ritual purification of temples. Smoke believed to aid clairvoyance. Also useful for purification and to stimulate contact with other worlds. Burned during the Plague to resist disease

- LAVENDER
Primarily air element. Has a light, aromatic and refreshing scent. Useful for attracting peace, happiness and restful sleep. Also reduces depression, grief and sorrow. Aids in meditation and divination, and often said to aid in manifestation. Known as Elf Leaf, Nard, Nardus, Spike and Lavandar. Traditionally associated with fairies and elves

- WHITE BROADLEAF SAGE
Primarily air element though can also be used as for four-element general purposes. This is a broad leaf sage is highly prized for its strong aromatic properties (strongest of the different types of sage). Considered the king if all sages. Excellent for meditation, divination, smudging, cleansing and purification.

- YERBA SANTA LEAVES
Traditionally used for enhancing psychic abilities, magical protection, healing and spiritual strength. Excellent for meditation and divination. Said to be ruled by the moon. One Native American tribe rolled the leaves into balls, dried it in the sun and chewed it for a natural mouthwash.

- HIBISCUS FLOWERS
Primarily fire and water elements. Produces a sharp, invigorating scent that lasts for a long time after burning. Often used in divination and psychic communication. Excellent for rejuvenating the senses and restoring life force.

- ROSE FLOWERS AND PETALS
Primarily water element. Produces a heavy, warm, aromatic scent with just a hint of sharpness – scent lasts a long time after burning. Excellent for meditation, divination, increasing psychic abilities, contacting powers and beings in other dimensions and psychic communication. Also traditionally associated with attracting love, conferring peace, stimulating sexual appetites and enhancing beauty.

- SWEETGRASS
Primarily air element. As its name suggests, sweetgrass produces a sweet and light fragrance that does not last for long. Excellent for cleansing sacred space. Sweetgrass is a rare grass which is found growing wild in very few places. Traditionally, sweetgrass is believed to invite the good spirits.

You can burn these herbs singly or in combination with each other. One good combination that covers all four magical elements of air, fire, water and earth is pine resin and sage (either desert sage or white broadleaf sage). <><><> WHEN TO SMUDGE YOURSELF <><><>
Smudging yourself on a daily basis can be very helpful in keeping yourself balanced and maintaining a peaceful state of being. However, you should definitely use shamanic smudging techniques when you've been around people who are ill, depressed, fearful, angry or generally emotionally unbalanced; before meditating to create a calm state of being; when you're feeling blue or depressed; or when you've been under a lot of stress.

Smudging yourself is easy. If you're using a smudge stick, light the smudge stick on a candle flame. Hold the stick in the flame until there is a lot of smoke and the stick is burning well (that's why a candle is better than a match—it can take a while to get the stick really smoking). Using a feather (or feather fan) or your hand, gently fan the smoke onto your body, starting at the top of the body and moving downward. Get the back of your body as best you can (it's often easier to use a smudge pot and loose herbs for this). When you're done, inhale a little of the smoke (just a little!) to purify your insides.

If you're using a smudge pot or Firebowl and loose herbs, light the herbs (using self-lighting charcoal—not the barbeque kind!) until it is smoking well. Then, put the Firebowl on the ground and stand over it with your legs spread and feet on either side. Weave back and forth in the smoke until you have been thoroughly cleansed. Clothing is optional for this approach, and smudging in the nude is recommended for a more thorough cleansing. Again, when you're done, inhale a little of the smoke to purify your insides. People often feel more relaxed, lighter and brighter after smudging.

If you're going to use the smudge smoke during meditation, use a charcoal burner or Firebowl, light the herbs and enjoy the scent and smoke as you meditate. Meditating with these herbs often produces a deeper and longer-lasting state of relaxation and contemplation.

Meditation with background music?
Author: Werner Boersch
Most people find it difficult, by exercising meditation, to focus and to empty totally their minds.
There is a technique to eliminate that problem.
Start with choosing a certain daytime to your convenience to do your every day meditation.
Over time, it will become your most pleasant time of your day, you'll awaiting it from day to day. It will become your most intimate time during your day and a secret place to retire to.

You can meditate how long you ever like and have time to. It can be during the daytime or also in evening(but attention - do not fall asleep). Do it for 10 minutes or for ten hours, it's by you.
You can do it sitting in a comfortable cheer or lay down supine.
Your position should be comfortable enough to permit you a complete relaxation.
During your meditation, you should be all over relaxed and not force any muscles of your body. Before you start relax a little, calm down from stress and try to eliminate any thinking about whatever, even not about the thinking itself.

Focus your attention onto your breathing, follow your respiration with your thoughts, feel how the air goes in and out through your nose and brings a stream of energy to you. (Never breath through your mouth!) Imagine your breathing as a stream of pure energy coming in to you.
Pay attention for your neck, often it will be forced without you're conscious and feel it. Try avoiding that because it brings you to headaches.
You respiration should be like that what you've learned from the yoga positions, meaning the complete yoga respiration.
(See http://www.meditationsession.com/exercises.html )

Again, think anything, try to empty your mind completely.
If you should find that difficult to do, let your thoughts simple flow without paying any attention to them, the mind is like an old wife that never will stop and shut up with the words, let them flow.
A little trick can help stopping your mind from thinking; try to turn your closed eyes up right to the middle of your front between your eyes brown.
There is following the Indian tradition your third eye and in fact you'll perceive there during deeper meditation states all of your existence or being.
During deeper meditation states you perceived being is not anymore in your body, your body presence will fade away and you'll feel your existence and your being only there - on the third eyes dimension.
Don't scare about any strange sensations or feelings like some warm stream along you spinal column or shiver or else.
You don't have to fear nothing, nothing can happen to you.
You have full control of yourself even if you do not perceive your body anymore, you can wake up whenever you want, in every instant.
You are the master of yourself.
With more practice, you'll start to perceive different colours - choose one of them as your favoured one to concentrate on the next times.
Let yourself slip into this colours till you're one with the colour itself.
That can you make happen with every image you like and get during your meditation; it can be a flower, the sun, the sea or water generally, it can be love, it can be friendship, it can be whatever you choose and focus on.
In this way you can even program your meditation to concentrate to one purpose only to stronger your behaviour.
Of course, you should choose only themes that are noble like altruism, love and so on.
Don't choose themes that are not noble they can drive to bad experiences.
In any case surrender yourself do never combat any impression or imagine you get during your meditation, be conscious that nothing can happen to you, you are the master of your meditation.
By using the holosync meditation music technique (see on http://www.meditationsession.com ) all the process will be guided from the music itself and it will be very easy for you to entry in deep meditation states.
Use the meditation music technique to ease and make deeper and faster your meditation and get real great results.
With meditation you can grow yourself and model your character and your way of life.
The power is inside yourself, use it to make more out of your life.

What is 'Kundalini'?
Author: Robert Morgen
The Kundalini is a pool of energy that lies dormant at the base of the spine and which can be and often is, accessed, allowing the student/victim to use the energy for health, spirituality and creating their life as they were meant to live it.
It's my belief that many people have had full or even partial awakenings of their kundalini energy and honestly don't recognize it.
Many of these people go through life seemingly unaffected, some seek higher spiritual planes and others suffer from epilepsy, schizophrenia or worse.
Lately Kundalini has become a fad in certain parts of the metaphysical community and in some ways has become the ultimate New Age ego trip, although I feel that many of those folks are completely missing the point.
A persons Kundalini can be awakened through an emotional trauma, a near death experience, a sharp blow to the coccyx or purposefully through meditation and study.
Those who seek to purposefully access their Kundalini can choose several methods, including Kundalini Yoga (extremely safe and takes upwards of 10-20 years to accomplish) and Hoshin Roshi Ryu (a "Martial Art" form created to specifically awaken the kundalini through meditation and physical training).
I don't believe that there is a 'wrong' or a 'right' way to awaken your kundalini and there are benefits to most any path chosen.
In his book "Pathnotes of an American Ninja Master", Dr. Glenn Morris goes into great detail about his Kundalini Awakening and the effects it had (and still has) on his life, and in some of my other articles I talk about my own experiences and some of the things I'm still learning and experiencing.
There are many exercises and experiments that one can do to help awaken the kundalini and I'll write about some of those in upcoming articles.

An Experimental Meditation using NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Approaches
Author: Adam Sargant, Dip.H.Ed (Nursing Studies), Dip.Hyp.,NLP(prac)

This meditation is built on the idea of trance identification with a future idealised, or present higher realized, self. Deep Trance Identification is a concept derived from the fields of NLP and hypnosis, but has its origins in shamanism, spiritual and religious practices of all kinds. Shamanic practices of identification with spirit beings and deities would appear to go back to pre-history. More recently, some forms of the mystical Christian practices of the Stations of the Cross encourage identification with Jesus at stages from his being condemned to die through to his resurrection.

In Sogyal Rinpoche's book, The Tibetan Book of living and Dying, he describes a meditation he calls Guru Yoga. I have adapted this meditation with an emphasis on some of the submodality distinctions. I would be interested in people's thoughts or experiences with this meditation.

It seems to me that one should be able to http://nlpuniversitypress.com/html/F41.html " target=_blank>future pace (nlp jargon) the insights and resources from the meditation back to the future self. This then creates a feedback loop, because the resources develop in the future pacing and become increasingly expanded and available to the trance identification. So as one carries out the meditation below, one can become aware of the insights that develop in "the now" contributing to the spiritual development of the future guru self being meditated upon. This further develops the guru self and results in accelerated insights in "the now".

I am constantly amazed by the obvious familiarity in buddhist writings with submodalities, given that they don't appear to have an explicit model of such.

Recieving the Wisdom of the Wisdom Self

  • Invocation

Sit quietly. Imagine yourself at some point in the future having acquired the spiritual wisdom and experience that you currently seek. Picture yourself as having all the qualities of compassion and wisdom and allow that image to fill the sky.

As you attend to that image, of your future self benignly and compassionately aware of your self now, allow the image to take on the qualities of translucence like a rainbow, so you can see the sky through the image of the guru self.

Holding the image in mind, allow yourself to feel the presence of a superbly compassionate and wise being, and in your mind, address the guru self with the following words "Help me, inspire me to reach forward to my goals of spiritual development. Teach me to progress as the I that is you have progressed and to realise the true nature of
    my being".

Now, whichever is easier, allow the guru self to fill your being from within, or allow yourself to expand and merge with the image of the guru self. Become aware of the transparency of self as you grow and simply rest, still, within the mind of the guru self.

In your mind, say now "Fill me now with the love and devotion I have learned in the future, guide me to the resources I have acquired in the time of my future self. I am my own Buddha teacher, and the pull of my own inspiration is inspired to flower and to blossom, as a flower in the sun".

  • Maturation

Within the mind of the guru self, simply practice whatever form of meditation is most familiar to you, whether it be single pointed concentration on an external object or a mantra meditation, or whatever form is most natural to you. Simply offer this meditation up with devotion and love to the future guru self and your own spiritual aspirations.

  • Empowerment

Separating your self from the future guru self, see the guru self again as filling the sky, translucent as a rainbow. Now imagine thousands of rays of light pouring from the image of the guru self, into you, filling you with love, healing, purifying and sowing the seeds of your future spiritual growth. As these lights continue to pour forth, imagine a swelling of intense white light emanating from the forehead of the guru self, between the eyes, and bursting forth and entering and filling you through the same point.

Then, imagine a ruby red light originating from the throat of the guru self, growing and then pouring forth into you entering at your throat.

And then, imagine an intense blue light pouring from the heart of the guru self, filling your heart, and cascading through your body.

Relax and sit still in the knowledge of having been imparted the body, speech and heart of your spiritually developed guru self.

  • Integration

Now, allow the image of the guru self to dissolve into light, filling the sky and the space around and within you, allowing the sense of your own presence to dissolve into the light. Rest for a while in this state of integrating, sensing any shifts in energy that occur, not making intellectual judgements but simply allowing the experience to occur.

    Meditation for you
    Author: Andrea Putting N.D
The other day on TV I saw a segment on meditation and how it is helping
ADD sufferers. The children and their parents have been taking meditation classes. This has been an enormous benefit to these families. The children are doing better in school, their concentration has improved and one of the greatest benefits is that their dependency on drugs has decreased dramatically.

This brought to my mind the importance for all of us to take a little time out and still our minds.

Many people have found the benefits of meditation. It improves health on all levels, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Making some time for ourselves to sit quietly and just clear our minds, can take a bit of discipline, but it is worth the effort. Some would say it is as important as our morning shower or brushing our teeth. It is apart of our personal care routine.

When you start out with meditation, you shouldn't expect too much from yourself.
It has taken some of the expects years to perfect and remain perfectly still.
Just finding within yourself a quiet moment can be of great benefit.

Start simply. For myself, I find taking a walk very meditative. I am fortunate in that I have native bushland directly behind my house and so it is easy to create a peaceful atmosphere. I treat this as meditation, not exercise, so I stroll along, taking in the environment. Half way, I find a quiet spot to sit, and close my eyes. This is a great way for me. It creates a quietness in my mind on the way and gradually on the way back things return. I know not everyone has this kind of environment to live in, but it can be recreated in your mind.

Find yourself a quiet spot within your home, or even outside, where you will not be disturbed.
Sit up, don't lie down, that's when you fall asleep.
Make sure you are warm and comfortable.
    Close your eyes.
Concentrate on your breathing, in and out.
Remember a place that you find peaceful, it may be a park, a mountain, a beach or someplace you just create in your mind.
In your mind, take a walk, take in the sounds of the birds, the wind, the waves, whatever there may be.
Take in the sights, the colours, the trees, the flowers.
    Enjoy it all.
Don't try to force other thoughts out of mind, just allow them to be and pass them over for later and focus on the beauty and the peace around you.
You may sit down for a while, you may meet someone along the way.
Listen to what they have to say and allow them to slip out of your mind.
Enjoy the scenery, the feeling of peace and safety.
Stay as long as you like.
When you return, take things slowly.
Gradually open your eyes and allow yourself to reawaken to the world.

This is a very simple way to start with meditation. Anyone can do this. It is about finding peace within yourself. Once you have enjoyed this experience and find stilling your mind is becoming easier, you may want to go further. Join a class, get some tapes. There is so many different methods to meditation, there is no right or wrong way. Whatever works for you.

    I hope you enjoy.

    The Power of Feeling
    Author: George Lockett
We see all the top Scientist and Physicist and Business People, all using their mind to try to understand life and the world around them. What they find is that the more they look into a subject the more they realise how little they actually know.

Yet the true process of knowing is not in understanding, it is in being. It is through your feeling and releasing, relaxing and centring your energy that you can truly know whom you are. Take a deep breath and stay conscious of your breathing as you reach out with your feeling.

This works best with your eyes close using one's imagination, creating images with your feelings and expanding your consciousness outwards. You can imagine your energy field connected to the Earth and being as one with the planet. As you do this you may realise that your consciousness is margining with that of the planet and you are helping the planets own consciousness to wake up and become aware of its' Self.

You can expand again and feel the connection to the Sun and Moon and all the planets of our Solar System. Astrologers have known for years of this connection and influence. It is time now for us all to wake up and put our energy in tune with planet Earth and the Solar System. Just allow yourself the freedom to dream and feel the connection.

We should not limit ourselves to imagining that we are just connected to the Solar System. We are part of a much bigger system and we should feel the connection to all the stars and planets in the Milky Way and the Whole Universe. Then expand further and feel all the Dimensions and the Parallel Universes and the Whole Omniverse. There is truly no limit, but the more we feel connected the more support we will have in our daily lives.

I have made some meditation recording to help with this if you would like to try them. Just follow the link and instructions on the page: http://www.healergeorge.com/guided_meditation.htm
I would recommend listening to the second one first; "Connecting to Earth and Universe - Guided Meditation" as this is a good general meditation and will balance and align your energies with both the Earth and the Universe.

What does Meditation music do to you?
    Author: Werner Boersch
Personally I belief that it is possible for anyone to live a life of happiness, inner peace, and outward success, no matter what their present or past circumstances.
There are very real methods anyone can use to achieve these things—if they are willing to make the necessary changes in how they see themselves and their relationship to the rest of the world, and take the necessary actions.

All traditions of meditation flow from one premise: that the entire universe is made of one all-encompassing energy, intelligent and aware, existing forever as the source of everything. Because there is nothing outside of it, say the mystics, because of its completeness, this energy has nothing to get or need, nothing to fear. Simply because it is its nature to do so, this one energy continually spins itself out as the entire, infinite universe. The very nature of this energy, it is said, is contentment, love, peace, happiness, and perfection.

The totality of this energy, say the mystics, is who you really are; your seeming separateness, an illusion. Saints and sages have for centuries attempted to describe to humankind a state of awareness where this feeling of oneness with everything in the universe is the predominant experience.

For thousands of years, curious seekers have responded to these explanations by asking, "If I am this one, infinite energy, the beginning less and endless totality of everything, if I really am Love itself, then why do I feel so bad? Why do I have so many problems? Why don't I feel the peace and happiness you say is my true nature?"
And the mystic invariably would answer, "You do not experience your true nature because of your mind. Your mind keeps you from the experience of what truly is."
These explanations state that the one energy of reality, at the moment of creation, polarized itself into a seeming duality—good and evil, male and female, up and down, here and there and all other pairs of seeming opposites. This duality, however, is more apparent than real. In each pair of opposites, each part is dependent on the other for its existence, like two sides of the same coin. "Cold" is meaningless without "hot"; "good" makes no sense without "bad". According to the mystical philosophies of the East,it
is the tension between these pairs of opposites, in your mind, that actually causes the universe to manifest.
This tension between opposites is also reflected in the human brain.
The brain, divided into two hemispheres, right and left, has the same dual structure—made more acute by the fact that in virtually all people the two hemispheres are unbalanced, a state called brain lateralization.
Since the brain filters our reality in this split-brain way, we tend to see things in terms of duality rather than the oneness spoken of by mystics.
Of course, today we know that this is true—the mind does indeed act as a filter, coloring our view of reality just as colored glasses give an illusory tint to what we see. As we grow up, our brain is programmed that some things cause pain and should be avoided, while others bring pleasure and should be sought.
Our brain will always filter reality to confirm that its predominant beliefs and associations are the truth.
No wonder we don't see the universe of love and harmony described by saints and mystics!
If the brain could somehow learn to operate in a more coherent, holistic manner, if the two sides of the brain could somehow balance, interact more, and function, as one, then possibly our experience of reality would be different.
The more lateralization in the brain (in other words, the more tension between polar opposites) the more feelings of separation, fear, anxiety, and isolation. In fact, as we shall see, only a lateralized brain can continue to entertain the types of beliefs that result in dysfunctional and addictive behaviors and the painful feelings that accompany them.

But our brain should not be considered like an organ what produces our
consciousness, we should consider it instead like the product of our consciousness.
The connections between the cells in our brain become created following the necessities of our consciousness.
In this way, our brain evolves and produces his self and our implicit consciousness.
Therefore, must our mind be seen as a potentiality!

Modern brain research indicates that long-term meditation does in fact balance the brain, creating a synchrony between the two hemispheres.
They discovered that electrical brain wave patterns of meditators changed, in periods of deep meditation, to a single, coherent pattern, indicating that both sides of the brain — ordinarily out of phase — were working together in a balanced, synchronous manner.
This and other research has demonstrated that this balancing, or synchronization, of the hemispheres of the brain happens in all forms of meditation. The degree of hemispheric synchronization can be very precisely determined by measuring the meditator's brain wave patterns with an electroencephalograph (EEG) machine.
Any kind of focusing will bring about a degree of brain synchronization (i.e. meditation). The greater the focus, the greater the synchronization (and the deeper the meditative state). The mystic, then, sitting to meditate, balances the brain through some form of focusing, whether by repeating a prayer or mantra, keeping the attention on the flow of the breath, staring at a candle flame, or by using one of many other techniques. Whatever the technique, the effect on the brain is substantially the same—brain synchronization, and after much practice, transcendental experience.
So just what is this transcendental awareness? Is it becoming some kind of a blob of undifferentiated guru that wants to sit and stare at its navel instead of going to work in the morning, or some kind of robed, smiling person handing out flowers in the airport? Contrary to common Western mythology about such things, persons operating continually in this type of awareness (a kind of 24-hour-a-day state of meditative alertness sometimes referred to as "the awakened mind") are more productive, happier, and capable of more intimacy, more creativity, and more wholeness. Since the filter through which they view reality does not split everything in to categories based on arbitrary early life programming, they see life more objectively, without fear and judgment, without a need to manipulate others, without need for approval—in short, without the limitations of mental programming. This is, in fact, a state of peak performance. And, when the brain is in this highly synchronous and coherent state, it produces large quantities of pleasure-causing petrochemicals called endorphins, making the whole experience very pleasurable!

In order to accelerate the personal growth process, can you take advantage from the results of modern brain research and use the combined method between meditation and brain wave stimulation with scientifically
developed meditation music, what stimulates your brain in a more effective and faster way than traditional meditation. By doing that you'll exclude any upcoming difficulties regarding focusing your mind and concentration.

EASTERN AND WESTERN PERSPECTIVES OF MEDITATION
    Author: Manoj Dash, BHMS,Ph.D.
    General.
The word 'meditation' is by now fairly well known though it conveys different meanings to different people. A dictionary definition1 shows that the word is derived from the Latin (meditate-meditari), meaning 'to survey, observe, contemplate'. In order to understand meditation, this paper presents the Eastern and Western perspectives along with the differences and common features.
    Western perspectives.
Interest in meditation began in the West with the introduction of the technique, Transcendental Meditation which is derived from principles in traditional yoga texts, but has been modified for contemporary practice2. Meditation was described based on physiological studies as a state of 'alertful rest'3,4, and a strategy to control the level of arousal5. Practitioners of meditation were also interested in the possibility of meditation giving them special powers (siddhis), to control the involuntary functions such as body temperature regulation6 or levitation7.
No single technique has been described. According to one description8, there are two main forms. The more common form has been called concentrative, involving focusing on a single, unchanging stimulus. The less common form of meditation has been called 'opening up', in which the practitioner of meditation attempts to broaden awareness to include all forms of sensations. Many scientists believe that despite mystical and spiritual connotations, there is nothing unique about the meditative state9, which is comparable to resting or relaxing.
To understand the Western perspective of meditation, it is important to understand the historical background of meditation and contemplation in the West. This is closely linked with Christian contemplative prayer which dates back to the 4th century (approximately). At the time of the Reformation contemplative prayer declined or disappeared among Protestants, and went into long decline in the Catholic countries. Under the influence of rationalism, the mystic direct experience of God became suspect. By the 19th century the contemplative prayer tradition had almost disappeared except among the cloistered Catholic religious orders, and it was marginalized even there. Christian contemplative practice began to revive among the Benedictines and other monastic orders. During the mid-20th century interest in contemplative practices increased, with the most popular writer on the subject being the Cistercian monk Thomas Merton10.
Lectio divina, translated as sacred reading, was likely brought to the Western Christian Church from Egypt, Syria, and Palestine in the early fifth century. It was recommended for both lay persons and monastics in the early Christian centuries. Lectio divina as it is traditionally taught, has four parts or elements:

    Steps involved in Lectio divina:
    ActivityDescriptionPurpose
LectioRead the passage, seek the word or GodListen
MeditatioMeditate on the passage and apply it to our own situation and needsReflect
OratioPray in response to the word of GodIntegrate
ContemplatioListen in contemplative silence, open to whatever God may wish to invite or impartReceive

Hence contemplation was accepted though by specific groups of individuals. However meditation was more generally associated with eastern traditions such as Zen and yoga, and many who wished to explore the contemplative life turned to Eastern teachers who were beginning to establish themselves in the West.
    Eastern perspectives.
    General.
In the traditional texts (the Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita) it has been described that when awake and in the absence of a specific task the mind is very distractible (cancalata), and has to be taken through the stages of 'streamlining the thoughts' (concentration or ekagrata), and one-pointed concentration (focusing or dharana), before reaching the meditative state (defocused, effortless single thought state or dhyana).
Descriptions of each of the states.

    Aura FAQs
    Author: Janet Ilacqua

    AURA FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions about reading auras.
I am not seeing any auras

There are several reasons why you are not seeing auras. Here are some of them:
You have not prepared yourself properly.
You are not in tune with the other person's energy. Some people's auras are harder to read than others are.
In this case, make an extra effort and keep in mind that you may not be able to read everyone's energy.
You are either sick, tired, or under stress. At this point, you should postpone reading until you are better.
The person that you are reading is sick, tired, or depressed. When people are sick or depressed, their auras get smaller and less vibrant; hence, they are hard to read.
Aura reading is easier for some people than others. You may need to take a class or buy special equipment, such as aura glasses.
In addition, regular attendance at a meditation group where you can learn to focus your attention and read other's energies is useful.

I am not seeing any colors in auras

It takes a lot of time and practice to see colors in auras. Sometimes, the colors are very muddy and hard to distinguish. Not all auras have colors. The best thing to do is to keep practicing. Eventually, you will see colors.

What do I do to protect myself against negative energy?

If you meet negative energy while doing readings, you need to protect yourself psychically. To do this, imagine your whole body surrounded by white light.

I am seeing entities and energy other than aura

The spiritual realm, on which auras exist, is filled with all sorts of entities, ranging from loving and positive (such as angels) to annoying or even dangerous.
Here are some types of entities that you may be encountering:
Spirit guides and guardians attached to the person you are reading.
Thought forms or psychic imprints. Thought forms can be negative or positive and usually produced by intense brooding. Oftentimes, they maybe indication of physical illness, depression, or mental illness. Many times, they are attached to the individual that you are reading.
Astral travelers. Oftentimes, when we are dreaming or in a coma, our spirits leave the body and travel to other places.
Ghosts--These can be spirits of the person's loved ones or they may have a connection to the house that you are reading in.
The spirits of living people who are either dreaming, in a coma, or engaged in astral travel.
Remember that, in all cases, your focus is on the person to the reader. The first thing you should be is determine their relationship to the person being read. Describe the spirit entities to your client and see if he can identify them. If the energies are at all negative, protect your psychically by surrounding you and the person you are reading with white light.
If possible, address the entities and ask them why there are here and if they have any information, which may help the person, whom you are reading. In any case, whatever entities, you should determine what information they are trying to give to you about the person you are reading.
Can I be a Christian, Moslem, Jew, etc. and read auras?
The belief in auras is not tied to any specific religious tradition. Throughout history, advanced spiritual people such as Buddha, Christ and their immediate students were painted with golden haloes around their heads, because some artists could actually see auras. In Australia remote West Kimberleys, you can find prehistoric cave paintings (right), many thousands of years old, depicting people with golden haloes. All religions have had the concept of positive spiritual energy, the equivalent of the Chinese concept of chi and the Christian concept of grace. Working with spiritual energy help you become a more spiritually balanced person and eventually a better Christian, Moslem, and so

    Simplifying Your Life
    Author: Lorraine Curry
The simple life is a life lived with a single focus. The more responsibilities a person has, the more complicated life becomes. For generations the focus for women was their families. I have often longed for the past, thinking how wonderful if we could turn back the clock to a simpler time. But, here we are, in a 21st-century world, and now most of us have at least two major responsibilities in our lives: 1) homes-families and 2) homeschooling. Some of us have added the responsibility of a home business. Others are involved in a ministry or a church that takes a good portion of their time. You may even be attending college, working at a job or doing something else that divides your focus.

If you feel overwhelmed by your responsibilities, here is a unique schedule that you might like to try. Since more can be accomplished when you concentrate on one thing at a time, do just that. Each week will have a different focus. That week most of your activities will be related to that major area, although there will be some things that will have to be done each day, whether or not they are part of that week's focus. These daily activities will be few, and will include meals, dishes, Bible and devotions.

    Week 1 Homeschooling Week.

This week, morning to evening you will focus on your children's education. You will read homeschooling books privately, plan homeschooling, set goals, monitor progress, give tests, read aloud, hear narrations, do projects, research, give your children assignments and tasks for the week(s) you will not be homeschooling. Having "Homeschooling Week" every other week for a year would give you sufficient hours "at task" but if your children can work independently, you could have this formal homeschooling week less often.

    Week 2 Cleaning Week.

Yes you can clean for a week! I spent a whole month on our house one time! This is when you do the major jobs— appliances, walls, scrubbing and perhaps even painting and sewing for the home. See http://www.easyhomeschooling.com/frtechniques.html Easy Homeschooling Techniques for details on cleaning and organizing your home.

Week 3 Cooking and Baking Week

Cook one day a month for meals to have on hand for your other weeks. (See Once-A-Month Cooking by Lagerborg and Wilson, Dinner's in the Freezer! or Mega Cooking by Jill Bond for the how-tos of freezer cooking.) This can be a great timesaving activity. Although you and your family will work very hard on cooking day, this system saves a lot of time on all the other days. Another day bake several loaves of whole wheat bread, along with other breads such as muffins and bagels to accompany your freezer meals. This is the week to make some extra-special meals and invite friends to dinner.

Week 4: Business Week (or other major focus area)

This is the week you focus on your business if you have one. Read related books, work on marketing and those important extra projects you can't usually fit in. Your children will be doing independent study, helping with the business or just enjoying their free time.

Week 5: Repeat the cycle or go into another of your focus areas.

You may choose to alternate your weeks like this.

    Week 1: Homeschooling
    Week 2: Cleaning and Cooking
    Week 3: Homeschooling
Week 4: Extra Curricular for Mom (or business activities)

Many are already dividing their days into:

    Morning: Homeschooling
    Afternoon: Business
    Evening: Cooking, Laundry, Cleanup

Or you could divide your week:

    Monday: Homeschool
    Tuesday: Cleaning
    Wednesday: Homeschool
    Thursday: Shopping/Cooking
    Friday: Homeschool

No matter what the focus of each week, never neglect responding to your children and their needs. With many responsibilities, it is even more important that we includes more prayer, Bible reading and meditation on the Scriptures. I've found that when I do this my productivity goes way up. It can't be explained. It is a supernatural law.

    Intuitive Thinking
    Author: Dale Power
When I say Intuitive thinking, I am not talking about using the occasional hunch or even having full blown psychic premonitions. Intuitive thought is a complete process that allows for psychic input as well as learned information, to form complete ideas that can be used in everyday life. It is a true altered state of consciousness.

With this one technique you can learn about, understand and invent processes that otherwise would never occur to you. It allows a person to approach true understanding of a subject matter, if given enough time.

It can also allow you to understand the current course of events in a specific subject area, and by application of thought, let you to alter or influence events in another direction. This is perhaps the true, greatest use of precognition, to see what is coming and avoiding it skillfully to your benefit.

I have used this type of thinking to make great personal strides in many areas of my own life, martial arts, psychic phenomenon and business in particular!

First I am going to make a few assumptions here. My working premise is that anyone trying this will already be familiar with some form of meditation or bio-feedback, as well as some type of psychic functioning.

Second, if you are interested in intuitive thinking skills, that you are a person with enough discipline to handle the potential problems that may arise from thinking in a new fashion. Quite frankly, when you begin to think in a markedly different fashion, it is possible to encounter situations in which your actions seem so different that to some they seem insane. Until your actions bring about the desired results, of course.

Even with the potential hardships involved, as we are moving into times so troubled that they cannot be understood in our common way, we need to have as many as individuals possible capable of alternative thought and action.

Start with an idea of the topic or subject you are going to address. You will need this idea as a starting point.

Drop into a theta brainwave state. You will recognize it either by the meditative feel of the state, the clarity and lack of verbalized thought, or you may notice clear photo like images in your mind. Both show you have reached the appropriate mental level.

Once you are in a deep clear space, introduce the idea you are going to work on. Hold it in your thoughts, getting a sense of the psychic reality of each portion of thought.

You will begin to feel as if you are thinking from the middle of your head. This is a sign that you are entering the correct mental space.

From this place of abstract thought, you will be able to focus on each critical part of an idea and allow the intuition to direct you from one part of the idea to the next. What is of interest here is that you will often move from information you already know, to information that is true, but you had no awareness of before.

The next step is to use this form of thought in daily life. This takes great practice and control, but will allow you to live as an intuitive being, rather than simply as a psychic. This is also a learning process. It will take time for your mind to learn how to react to the world while in this state.

It is important to understand that this is an integrated state. You are not just in a meditative state, but a logical one, that uses intuition and psychic information as part of its base. You will find yourself understanding not only what will happen, but often why and how to change it to a different, hopefully better, outcome, if needed.

The Magnetic, Attractive Power of the Mind
    Author: Remez Sasson
The power of mind draws certain events, circumstances and people into our lives and repels others. In this respect it resembles a magnet. Just look at the people around you. Some pass through certain events and circumstances, while others pass through different experiences. Some accomplish certain things easily, and others accomplish them with great difficulty or not at all.

Your mind is composed of the thoughts you think. These thoughts are like magnetic currents. If you think positively about some event or action, it turns out to be as you thought about it. If you harbor negative thoughts, this negativity is drawn into your life.

You attract into your life what you think about frequently. It does not mean that every thought gets materialized. Most of the thoughts are weak and are not repeated long enough to gain sufficient strength. Weak thoughts, like a weak magnet, hardly have any attractive power.

You have seen how a magnet draws metal objects. A strong and big magnet draws bigger objects than a small and weak one. Magnets have another peculiar characteristic. One side of the magnet draws, and the other side repels.

The power of attraction is a neutral power. The magnet draws to itself everything made of iron, no matter whether it is a useful object or junk. The mind acts in the same way. It attracts into your life positive and negative situations and events, according to the thoughts that you think.

Like the magnet the mind not only attracts, but also repels. If you do not believe you can get or accomplish something, then you repel it. Thoughts of incompetence, weakness, fear and inferiority create a repellent force. It is as if you are creating a wind that blows away and prevents certain things to reach you.

There are several ways to charge your mind and thoughts with magnetic power. Strong desire, concentration and faith are some of the important ingredients for infusing power into thoughts.

Many activate the magnetic power of their mind unconsciously, without knowing what they are doing. When you know the rules, you become able to activate the magnetic power of your mind consciously, positively and effectively.

Visualizing and thinking with concentration, desire and faith, and repeating these thoughts often, unleashes powerful energy. Your thoughts get radiated and broadcasted, influencing the minds of other people, and attracting to you people who think along the same lines as you do and who can help you with your plans. This process also heightens your awareness and perceptiveness of any opportunity connected with your thoughts that comes your way, and fills you with the inner power and initiative to utilize it.

Why not become conscious of your thoughts, choose to think the ones that are beneficial for you, and consciously and advantageously utilize the power of attraction? You can attract people, circumstances, events, possessions or a life style with the magnetic power of attraction of your mind.

Remember, what you think about intently, with attention and feeling is attracted to you. It can be material and it can be spiritual. The power of attraction is a universal power and manifests everywhere and in everything. It is the power that holds the Universe together. Without it there would not be any world.
